Qualifications: 

  1. Associate degree in related technical field or equivalent training
  2. A+ Certificstion or equivalent training and experience
  3. Experience working in an academic institution, K-12 education strongly preferred
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of information system hardware and software troubleshooting skills and problem resolution
  5. Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology
  6. Demonstrated ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner
  7. Knowledge of principles and practices of network design and administration
  8. Sound organizational skills and an ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion
  9. Valid Georgia drivers' license in required

Reports to: Director of Technology

 

General Responsibilities: 

The technician will be responsible for maintaining network, workstation, and peripheral operating systems, hardware, and software applications.  The technician will also be responsible for instaling network operating systems, hardware and software applications, or assisting contractors in the same.  The job demands the ablity to bend and lift, crouch, kneel, and walk in order to perform essential functions. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Set-up, install, and maintain campus computer systems.  Recommend and/or install workstation hardware and software upgrades 
  2. Set-up, install, and maintain printers, computer peripherals, and related software
  3. Install and troubleshoot computer software while maintaining lecense requirements
  4. Perform repair of computer hardware, printers, and peripherals, including acquitiotion of parts and maintaining service related records
  5. Manintain the network hardware, software, networkable computer applications, and files
  6. Coordinate the annual cleaning and preventitive maintenance of district computer equipment
  7. Provide support to end users through their requests for services by troubleshooting site hardware, software, and wiring problems. 
  8. Provide basic training on the care and operation of school computer equipment as needed
  9. PRovide support to the Director of Technology by being able to backup/restore files on the network,shutdown and/orreboot servers in the correct sequence in case of need, and perform basic administreation tasks on user accounts while maintaining data integrity and network security
  10. Provide input as needed for school technology planning and network operation
  11. Assist the Director of Technology in the purchase and procurement of all technology equipment for each of the buildings on campus, excluding all network and sever equipment.
